SUBJECT / RECOMMENDATIONS
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
This agreement has been developed by a committee made up of culinary arts teachers and district staff and approved by the Classroom Teacher’s Association (CTA). The committee members are attached. For many years culinary chef/instructors have spent additional hours performing duties to provide student’s work-based experiences outside the normal working hours without compensation. The proposal for compensation is based on the number of additional hours required either at the school site and/or off campus to complete the requested services. These events require the supervision of students who are applying “real-world” culinary skills.
The ACS form (attached) will be signed by the chef/instructor and the client and attached to the work order. The ACS form will denote the number of additional hours required at the hourly fee of $25, plus fringe , for the chef/instructor to fulfill the work order. The number of hours and total cost will be agreed on prior to the start work. Funds received from the client for the additional hours will be used to compensate the chef/instructor through the payroll department at the rate of $25 per hour, plus fringe rate.
If approved, the effective date for this agreement for compensation to the culinary chef/instructor will be February 1, 2008.
