Approve Construction Documents and Guaranteed Maximum Price for Renovation at
Limona Elementary School

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

On February 13, 2007, the Board appointed rojo Architecture and Ellis Construction Company, Inc. to provide design and construction management services. The renovation of existing facilities includes painting throughout the campus, replacement of vinyl composition tile (VCT) flooring and base, fire rating upgrades at classroom walls, miscellaneous architectural, plumbing, and electrical improvements, upgrades to the fire alarm, security, intercom, and data systems to meet code and current standards, and repair of deteriorated structural elements at columns and footings around the perimeter of the circular classroom building, Media Center, and Building 7. Project completion is scheduled for December 17, 2008.

Approval of the guaranteed maximum price will establish the cost for the project.

Provide adequate school facilities for the accomplishment of all District Goals and Critical Success Factors.

FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted: Yes)

Construction cost is warranted at $2,927,463. The construction budget is $3,440,000. This item is included in the District Capital Outlay: Public Education Capital Outlay (PECO) Construction 06-07.
