Approve Change Order No. 1 in the Credit Amount of $1,038,654.81 and Change Order No. 2 in the Amount of $39,478.04 Net Extra for Classroom and Field House Addition and Remodel at
Armwood High School

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

On November 9, 2006, the Board appointed Ranon & Partners, Inc. Architects and Ellis Construction Company, Inc. to provide design and construction management services. The scope of work includes the addition of 16 classrooms required for class size reduction. The field house addition will include boys and girls locker rooms, showers and toilets, office and planning area. The field house is funded by private donations and matching funds from the District.

Change Order No. 1 provides a credit for the direct purchase of materials by the District, in accordance with the Direct Purchase Program. Change Order No. 2 provides for District-requested revisions to the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system in Buildings 11 and 12.

Provide adequate school facilities for the accomplishment of all District Goals and Critical Success Factors.

FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted: Yes)

This item is included in the District Capital Outlay: Classrooms for Kids 2006 ($2,463,713), Community Investment Tax ($1,482,263), Community Sources (Private donations $600,000), and 2 Mill (Matching funds $50,000).
