EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

Charter school legislation, 1002.33, F.S., permits individuals, organizations and community members the opportunity to submit an application to the School Board for the creation of a charter school. On October 16, 2007, the School Board approved the application for Taylor Peace Academy (Cloud of Glory).

Taylor Peace Academy (Cloud of Glory) will be located at 7002 E. Dr. Martin L. King Blvd. The school will serve students in grades K-5. The curriculum focus will be a standard curriculum aligned with the Sunshine State Standards with an emphasis on Peace Education.

A copy of the proposed five-year contract for the school is attached. The original charter application approved by the School Board will become Appendix I of this contract and will be available for review in the School Board Office. The following attachments will be appendices to the contract:

In the event there is a discrepancy between the contract and the charter application, the terms of the contract will prevail. Taylor Peace Academy has agreed to all terms of the contract, which has been revised to include the most recent revisions to 1002.33, F.S.

The attached documents are originals submitted by Taylor Peace Academy.

A copy of the application review summary is attached indicating where weaknesses are addressed in the contract.
