SUBJECT / RECOMMENDATIONS
Request for Authority to Initiate Litigation
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The School Board attorney asks authority to institute litigation on behalf of the Board to stop and remedy a situation being created at Limona Elementary School by bee hives kept in the vicinity of the school. For some time, the students, faculty, and staff at Limona have had to deal with the presence of bees which have stung students and others at the school, and left deposits on vehicles parked at the school. The litigation will be handled by Clark Jordan-Holmes of the firm of Joyner and Jordan Holmes, which previously has been appointed to the Board’s lawyer panel and authorized to perform work for the Board through the RFP process. The suit would seek injunctive and other relief from those responsible for the situation at the school.
