Approve Construction Documents and Guaranteed Maximum Price for
Elementary School "M" (Temple Heights)

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

On December 18, 2007, the Board appointed The Architectural Practice, Inc. and Batson-Cook Company to provide design and construction management services. As of the proposed boundaries, this school will relieve Cahoon, Forest Hills, and Pizzo Elementary Schools. Project completion is scheduled for August 1, 2008.

Approval of the guaranteed price will provide a maximum cost for the facility.

ANNUAL DISTRICT GOAL(S) AND CRITICAL SUCCESS FACTOR(S)

Provide adequate school facilities for the accomplishment of all District Goals and Critical Success Factors.

FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted: Yes)

Construction cost is warranted at $12,367,258, which includes $1,263,332 for extraordinary conditions (right of way work, security guard, sensor operated flush valves and sensor operated faucets, principal trailer, acceleration cost, well grouting, palm tree removal and tree trimming, carpet in classrooms and Media, cost to upsize Dining and Multi-Purpose Rooms to accommodate future increase in student capacity). The construction budget is $12,400,000. This item is included in the District Capital Outlay: Classrooms for Kids 2007-08.
