Approval of Interlocal Agreement with Hillsborough County Parks, Recreation and
Conservation Department for Construction of Carrollwood Recreation Buildings
(REVISED ATTACHMENT)

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

School Board staff has been working with Hillsborough County Parks, Recreation and Conservation Department (the "County") to construct recreation buildings on School Board owned property at Carrollwood Elementary School (Exhibit A, "Sketch"). It has been mutually decided that the County will provide funding for the project, not to exceed $1,000,000, which will include the design, permitting, and construction administration for the project and the School Board will be responsible for the construction (Exhibit C, "Scope of Work"). The School Board will handle the routine day-to-day maintenance of the facilities and utility costs; the County will provide preventative maintenance and replacement costs for major elements of the facility (Exhibit B, "Schedule and Maintenance").

School Board use of the common areas of the facilities will be during school hours, approximately 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and County Park's use of these areas will be during all other times and as part of their after school program. As part of this Agreement, the School Board and the County will each have the right to request additional usage from the other.

Staff anticipates completion of this Project by December 31, 2008. the Interlocal Agreement has been reviewed by the School Board Attorney as to form and sufficiency.

Provide adequate school facilities for the accomplishment of all District Goals and Critical Success Factors.

FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted: Yes)

The County has agreed to reimburse the School Board up to $1,000,000 for the construction of the Project. This amount will fully fund the Project.
