SUBJECT / RECOMMENDATIONS

Approve Schematic Design and Design Development Phases for Renovation (Phase I) at
Ballast Point Elementary School

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

On February 19, 2008 the Board appointed Woodroffe Corporation Architects and J.B.D. Construction, Inc. to provide design and construction management services. The renovation is being planned in phases to accomplish the majority of the work during summer breaks and avoid the need for temporary portable classrooms. The renovation of existing facilities for Phase I includes exterior handicap accessibility revisions; new roofing throughout the campus; upgraded interior lighting; and new intercom and security systems. Phase I completion is scheduled for August 2008.

Approval of the schematic design and design development phases will allow the architect to proceed with construction documents.
