Approve Amendment of Architect's Agreement for Renovation at
Ruskin Elementary School

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

On April 4, 2006, the Board appointed Wilder Architecture, Inc. to provide architectural services for renovation of Ruskin Elementary School. During the assessment of the facility conducted as part of the renovation scoping, it was determined that replacement of older portions of the facility in lieu of renovation was warranted, and a budget for the replacement facility was established. Amendment of the existing agreement with Wilder Architecture, Inc. to add design of the replacement facility to the scope of services is recommended.

Amendment of the architectural agreement with Wilder Architecture, Inc. will provide compensation for this additional work at a fixed fee of $262,284.

Provide adequate school facilities for the accomplishment of all District Goals and Critical Success Factors.

FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted: Yes)

Construction budget for the replacement facility is $4,035,133. This item is included in the District Capital Outlay: Certificates of Participation Series (CoPS) 2004B.
