Cancel Contract with School Readiness Programs and The Family Child Care Home of Bernice Igbinosun, Effective June 1, 2008 (Student Services and Federal Programs Division)

The contract with the Family Child Care Home of Bernice Igbinosun for the provision of child care and early education services for children of income-eligible families is to be cancelled in response to notification by the owner that she no longer wishes to be contracted and does not intend to renew her license which expires May 31, 2008. The term of the contract was October 1, 2007, through June 30, 2008.

Goal 5 – The District will eliminate the FCAT achievement gap by a minimum of 10 percentage points as reported by No Child Left Behind.

The total funding of $38,000 was to be used to provide education and care for approximately 10 eligible children of low-income families at the annual rate of $3,800 per child. The federal/state grant funds are channeled to the district from the Florida Office of Early Learning and the Hillsborough County School Readiness Coalition doing business as Early Learning Coalition of Hillsborough County. Due to the facility not wishing to be contracted or renew its child care license, the remaining $1,487 of the contract will be made available to other providers assuming the care of children enrolled at the time that the Family Child Care Home of Bernice Igbinosun ceases operation.

No evaluation will be conducted due to this action being a contract cancellation.
