On April 4, 2006, the Board appointed Wilder Architecture, Inc. to provide architectural services for renovation of Ruskin Elementary School. During the assessment of the facility conducted as part of the renovation scoping, it was determined that replacement of older portions of the facility in lieu of renovation was warranted, and a budget for the replacement facility was established. The scope of work for the replacement facility provides for a single building addition to the existing campus providing one central location for food preparation, serving and dining along with 16 new classrooms. Project completion is scheduled for December 2009.

Approval of the schematic design phase will allow the architect to proceed with design development documents.

The project is currently funded at $4,035,133. The estimate of probable cost is $4,035,133. This item is included in the District Capital Outlay: Certificates of Participation Series (CoPS) 2004B.
