Approve Change Order No. 3 in the Credit Amount of $60,532.00 and Acceptance of Project for Road Improvements at
Deer Park Elementary School

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

On January 17, 2006, the Board appointed The Architectural Practice, Inc. and Ellis Construction Company, Inc. to provide design and construction management services for Deer Park Elementary School. This new facility was a reuse of the Collins Elementary School design. As of the current boundaries, this school relieves Bryant Elementary School.

On January 16, 2007, the Board approved an interlocal agreement with Hillsborough County for an extension of Citrus Park Drive to provide access to the school. The agreement provided for the extension to be designed and funded by the County, and constructed by the District. On February 13, 2007, the Board approved Ellis Construction Company's guaranteed maximum price for the road extension. The Board has subsequently approved modifications to the interlocal agreement to fund County design changes.

This change order provides credits for project savings and return of unused contingency funds.

The architect advises that the referenced project is finally complete in accordance with the plans and specifications and other contract documents and recommends Board acceptance.

Provide adequate school facilities for the accomplishment of all District Goals and Critical Success Factors.

FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted: Yes)

The County has agreed to reimburse the District for the road improvements. Therefore, there was no cost to the District.
