Approve Change Order No. 3 in the Amount of $146,935.25 Extra and Change Order No. 4 in the Credit Amount of $13,467.35 for
Carver Center, Replacement Facility

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

The Board appointed Howard & Associates Architects, P.A. and J.O. DeLotto & Sons, Inc. to provide design and construction management services. This new facility provides a replacement for the Carver Center at the former site of the Bryan Alternative Center. The original Carver Center was razed to accommodate the widening of the adjacent interstate highway.

Change Order No. 3 provides for fire-rated glass to satisfy code requirements; revisions to food service equipment; electrical, stucco, landscaping and flooring modifications; and asbestos abatement of the existing facility. Change Order No. 4 provides for final reconciliation of the Direct Purchase Program.

Provide adequate school facilities for the accomplishment of all District Goals and Critical Success Factors.

FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted: Yes)

Funding will be derived from land proceeds and Individuals with Disabilities Education Act and School Infrastructure Thrift Award.
