Recognition of School Attendance Incentive Program Award Winners, 2007/2008 (Curriculum and Instruction Division)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
We are pleased to recognize four students for achieving thirteen years of perfect attendance in Grades K through 12. In addition, we will recognize the Area 6 District Office for the highest percentage of attendance and the Area 4 District Office for the most improved attendance percentage for the 2007/2008 school year.
Eight years ago, former Deputy Superintendent Beth Shields initiated an attendance incentive program for schools that meet or exceed the district goal of 96% attendance annually. In 2006/2007, this incentive was expanded to recognize the area with the highest cumulative attendance average and the area with the most improved cumulative attendance average from the previous school year.
- The area directors with the highest attendance average and the highest attendance gains will be awarded a flag with a streamer.
- Four students achieving thirteen years of perfect attendance for Grades K through 12 will be presented with a clock.
We are very proud of the accomplishment of all of our schools and students.
ANNUAL DISTRICT GOAL(S) AND CRITICAL SUCCESS FACTOR(S)
Goal 5 - The district will close the FCAT achievement gap by a minimum of 10 percentage points as reported by No Child Left Behind.

Funds of $542 are included in the general operating budget of the Division of Student Services and Federal Programs. Funds of $1457.58 from the 2006/2007 Adult and Community Education general operating budget were used to provide the flags, streamers, certificates and clocks.

Analysis of attendance percentages is conducted monthly by the Office of Attendance and is reviewed by the Division of Administration.
