SUBJECT / RECOMMENDATIONS

Approve Construction Documents and Guaranteed Maximum Price for Renovation at
Witter Elementary School

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

On February 19, 2008, the Board appointed Carruthers & Associates Architects P.A. and The Morganti Group, Inc. to provide design and construction management services. The renovation of existing facilities includes site drainage improvements; gang toilet remodeling; new windows, doors, cabinets and exhaust fans throughout; selected floor repairs and replacements; selected interior and exterior lighting improvements; handicap accessibility revisions; roof and flashing repairs; interior and exterior painting; and fire alarm replacement. Project completion is scheduled for August 8, 2008.

Approval of the guaranteed maximum price will establish the cost for the project.

Provide adequate school facilities for the accomplishment of all District Goals and Critical Success Factors.

FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted: Yes)

Construction cost is warranted at $1,520,000. The construction budget is $1,520,000. This item is included in the District Capital Outlay: 2 Mill.
