Approve the Appointment for the Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

Michael Grego, Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction, has accepted a Superintendent position in Osceola County Public Schools. Dr. Grego is to begin his new position on July 1, 2008. To provide an effective transition and ensure maximum achievement in the District it is the Superintendent’s recommendation to appoint Wynne A. Tye, currently General Director for Exceptional Student Education, to the position of Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction, effective July 1, 2008.

Wynne Tye began in the District in 1981 as a Special Education Teacher at the Manhattan Center. She taught special education at Manhattan Center and later Caminiti until her Appointment as Assistant Principal for Exceptional Student Education at the Caminiti campus. From 1997 to 1998 she served as an Administrative Resource Teacher at Tomlin and Buchanan Middle Schools. From 1998 to 2001 she was an Assistant Principal at Hill Middle School. In 2002 she was appointed principal of Walker Middle School where she served until her appointment of General Director for Middle School Education in 2004. In 2006 she was appointed General Director for Exceptional Student Education where she is currently serving.
