EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Title I schools that do not make Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) for three consecutive years under federal requirements must offer Supplemental Educational Services (SES) or free tutoring for eligible students. This is a federally mandated program under current legislation. These services are in addition to instruction provided during the school day. These services include on-school site and off-school site services, in-home services, and distance learning. All students from low income families who attend a Title I school that has not met AYP for three consecutive years are eligible for SES. All SES services are free to students and their families. The District is required to set aside 20% of its Title I, Part A allocation. The sum of $9,128,672 was set aside for this purpose in Hillsborough County and $5,943,760 was spent for SES services.
The purpose of the evaluation was to provide information about the SES program including how the program operates and possible program improvement. Selected findings are as follows:ANNUAL DISTRICT GOAL(S) AND CRITICAL SUCCESS FACTOR(S)
