Florida Statutes authorize continuing contracts for professional architectural, engineering, and construction management services for projects for which construction costs do not exceed $1,000,000, and for study activities when the fee for such professional services does not exceed $50,000.

In 2007, the Board executed contracts for architectural and construction management services on a continuing basis. These contracts provided for an annual renewal, subject to satisfactory performance. With the exception of The Robinson Green Beretta Corporation who have recently closed their Tampa office, staff recommends renewal of continuing services contracts with all of the previously appointed firms for an additional one year period. Firms recommended for renewal of their contract are listed in Attachment G.

To provide continuing services opportunities for additional construction management firms, staff solicited proposals from firms not currently under contract. Florida Statutes and School Board policy outline the process and requirements for selection of professional service providers. Attachment A summarizes the process. The process provides for the identification of the most highly qualified firms for the required service by a Professional Services Selection Committee that includes representatives from several District divisions and the community. Specific committee members participating in this selection and the organization represented by each are identified in Attachment C. Firms considered for the provision of construction management services and the results of their evaluation by the Committee at each phase of the process are recorded in Attachments D and E.

Staff recommends approval of additional continuing contracts with the firms deemed most highly qualified by the Selection Committee to provide construction management services, as listed in Attachment F.

Contracts shall be established for an initial one-year term, and may be renewed for subsequent one-year terms upon mutual agreement.
