Approve Agreement for Technical Services with Joyce McClain to Deliver Mathematics Coaching and Mentoring to the Faculty at Sligh Middle Magnet School - $5,437.60

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
We request approval of Agreement for Technical Services for Joyce McClain, an experienced consultant who works with the district on a regular basis. She will provide mathematics teachers coaching and mentoring needed to improve academic instruction. The topics covered will include pacing, lesson planning, classroom management, and integration of technology. All mathematic teachers will receive 140 hours of coaching and mentoring during the school year from September 5, 2008, through May 20, 2009.
ANNUAL DISTRICT GOAL(S) AND CRITICAL SUCCESS FACTOR(S)
Goal 2- The percentage of students scoring at Level 3 or higher on FCAT mathematics will increase a minimum of 5 percentage points.
FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted: Yes)
Funds of $5,437.60 are included in the divisional special revenue/federal programs budget through the Magnet Grant, Project 1433.
