SUBJECT / RECOMMENDATIONS

Approve Agreement with the City of Tampa to Transfer Ownership of Potable Water Facilities at Sligh Middle School

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

As part of the renovation of Sligh Middle School (the "School"), Hillsborough County Public Schools ("HCPS") constructed Potable Water Facilities (the "Facilities") in the City of Tampa's Service Area. The Facilities will be used as a water tap in for the fire main service for the School in the right-of-way on 22nd Street in Tampa. The plans for the construction of the Facilities were submitted to the Tampa Water Department and approved as presented. HCPS and the City have mutually agreed that upon connection to the water system, it would be mutually beneficial for the City to accept ownership of the Facilities.

By accepting ownership, the City will be responsible for maintenance and operation and HCPS will guarantee the Facilities against any defects in workmanship and materials for a period of thirteen months as of the date of execution of this Agreement.

This Agreement has been reviewed by the School Board Attorney as to form and sufficiency.
