Approve Technical Services Agreement with The Peace Education Foundation, 2008/2009
School Year - $6,750 (Curriculum and Instruction Division)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Approve Technical Services Agreement with The Peace Education Foundation. Funds will cover the cost of a trainer, all educational books, workbooks, manuals, and materials needed to provide peer mediation training on October 27 & 28, 2008, and bullying prevention training on January 12, 2009. Participants will include Peer Mediation Coordinators in elementary, middle, and senior high schools. Participants will be trained on strategies, skills, and techniques that can be used to enhance the District mandated peer mediation program, and decrease bullying situations in order to create safe and orderly school environments.

FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted: Yes)
Funds of $6,750 are available from the Part I Budget of the Office of Training and Staff Development, Project 4502.
EVALUATION
The success of this training will be determined by tracking student discipline data found in the School District’s Student Information System. This data will show how many successful school mediations were used in lieu of out-of-school suspensions and other disciplinary actions.
