SUBJECT / RECOMMENDATIONS

Approve Award of Contract for Metal Playcourt Canopy at
Turner Elementary School

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

This design-build project is being planned by the Facilities Division. Contract award is being recommended concurrent with and contingent upon approval of matching funds for the project. The scope of work provides for a new metal playcourt canopy.

The project was advertised and five bids were received (see attachment). Award of the contract to the low bidder, J.B.D. Construction, Inc., is recommended. Project completion is scheduled for February 28, 2009.

ANNUAL DISTRICT GOAL(S) AND CRITICAL SUCCESS FACTOR(S)

Provide adequate school facilities for the accomplishment of all District Goals and Critical Success Factors.

FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted: Yes)

The contract amount being awarded is $169,210. Expenditures are funded as follows: $119,210 (from school's contribution) and $50,000 (from 2 Mill Matching Funds).
