SUBJECT / RECOMMENDATIONS
Approve Technical Services Agreement with Noreen Rodriguez, to Review Reading Data with Reading Teachers at Middleton High School. (Student Services and Federal Programs)
Ms. Rodriguez will work sixteen hours a week for nineteen weeks, totaling 304 hours beginning October 22, 2008, through February 27, 2009, at Middleton High School. She will review the reading data with reading teachers and identify specific needs in the reading classrooms; provide ongoing weekly support of the implementation of curriculum guidelines based on the Sunshine State Standards, along with support in lesson planning, co-teaching, demonstrating, and observation of the reading teachers; and provide staff development, based on identified teacher and student need, related to the site's School Improvement Plan goals, including Project CRISS follow-up training, cooperative learning training, and any identified literacy support training.

FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted: Yes)
The project is supported by FOCUS dollars in the amount of $11,807.36.
The students' reading performance at Middleton High School will show an average of 25% improvement on the FCAT.
