SUBJECT / RECOMMENDATIONS
Approve Agreement with The City of Tampa to Transfer Ownership of Potable Water Facilities at
Westshore Elementary School
As part of the renovation of Westshore Elementary School (the "School"), Hillsborough County Public Schools ("HCPS") constructed Potable Water Facilities (the "Facilities") in the City of Tampa's Service Area. The Facilities will be used as a water tap in for the fire main service for the School in the City's right-of-way on South Fitzgerald Street. The plans for the construction of the Facilities were submitted to the Tampa Water Department and approved as presented. HCPS and the City have agreed that, upon connection to the water system, it would be mutually beneficial for the City to accept ownership of the Facilities.
By accepting ownership, the City will be responsible for maintenance and operation and HCPS will guarantee the Facilities against any defects in workmanship and materials for a period of thirteen months as of the date of the execution of this Agreement.
The agreement format has been reviewed by the School Board Attorney as to form and sufficiency.
