2007-2008 Hillsborough District "You Make a Difference Award" Winners
Joni Cagle and Roxanne Coriell, Hunter's Green Elementary School
The Florida Developmental Disabilities Council (FDDC) has sponsored the "You Make a Difference" awards for the past four years as a venue to provide positive recognition to educators, and inform school administrators of the importance of inclusion in the classroom. FDDC is a not-for-profit entity engaged in advocacy, capacity building, and systematic change activities that contribute to a coordinated, consumer and family-centered comprehensive system of community services and individualized supports.
Eligible nominees for the awards are educators or administrators from Florida public and private Preschools, Elementary Schools, Middle Schools, and High Schools who demonstrate excellence in the practice of educating students with developmental disabilities alongside students without developmental disabilities.
Joni Cagle and Roxanne Coriell from Hunter's Green Elementary School were recognized at a statewide award luncheon on June 20, 2008.
