EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The renovation of Mitchell Elementary School was planned by the architectural firm of Abell Garcia Architects P.A. On January 13, 2004, the Board appointed the construction management firm of R.J. Bunbury Company, Inc. to provide construction management services for the project. The scope of work included re-roofing; painting and sealing of the exterior; construction of a new elevator; replacement of the HVAC system; upgrades to the electrical, lighting, and fire alarm systems; correction of moisture infiltration; new intercom and fire sprinkler systems; door hardware replacement; and miscellaneous safety upgrades. The scope also included restoration of ceiling heights in the corridors, interior and exterior transom windows, wood floors in the corridors and classrooms, replacement of classroom light fixtures with pendant fixtures, and replacement of ceiling finishes and heights in classrooms.
This change order provides a credit for the Owner Controlled Insurance Program.
The architect advises that the referenced project is finally complete in accordance with the plans and specifications and other contract documents and recommends Board acceptance.
