Recognition of Terrace Community Middle Charter School for Receiving the Blue Ribbon School of Excellence Award

The Florida Department of Education nominated Terrace Community Middle Charter School to the United States Department of Education for the 2007-2008 National Blue Ribbon Recognition Program. Terrace Community Middle Charter School was identified for a site visitation by the United States Department of Education and was named a National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence on November 8, 2007. The charter school utilized a back to basics approach aligning the Department of Defense curriculum to the Sunshine State Standards. The school has received a grade of “A” for the last eight years and demonstrates a strong commitment to educational excellence for all students. A recognition was held in Tallahassee for all Florida Blue Ribbon schools in April, where Gary Hocevar and his staff, along with a district representative, were honored.

Hillsborough County Public Schools is proud to partner with Terrace Community Middle Charter School in providing quality education to all students. They are an outstanding example of a successful charter school that offers parents a choice.
