SUBJECT / RECOMMENDATIONS
Authorize the Disposal of Twenty-Two Surplus Vehicles from the Fleet Maintenance Section of the Transportation Department
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Attached is a list of surplus and/or damaged vehicles. We recommend that the vehicles be sold at public auction using the services of Tampa Machinery Auction or sold for scrap if no bid can be obtained. The vehicles have been evaluated and it was determined that repair costs exceeded their current values or they are being replaced in accordance with the District’s 15 year replacement policy. Copies of the inspection forms are on file at the Transportation Department and are available upon request.
ANNUAL DISTRICT GOAL(S) AND CRITICAL SUCCESS FACTOR(S)
* Align financial resources to support the district’s strategic goals
FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted: No)
Monies received from the Tampa Machinery Auction will be directed back into the Transportation Shop funds.
EVALUATION
The goals of financial management are achieved with this recommendation as these vehicles are no longer economically feasible for continued use.
