Approve Technical Service Agreements for Facilitators of Professional Educator Courses through Teacher Training, Staff Development (Information and Technology Division)

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

The District is committed to providing quality professional development for teachers. Facilitators will plan, conduct, and evaluate the Professional Educator courses from January through May 2009. Professional Educator courses include Support Team Training, Clinical Education, Professional Learning Communities, Data Analysis, New Teacher Induction, Classroom Management, and others. Agreements for Technical Services have been prepared for the attached list of training facilitators. Enrollment in these professional educator courses varies during the year based on teacher needs. In order to effectively provide training, permission is granted to add and/or delete facilitators as needed, not-to-exceed the budgeted amount of $45,000.

ANNUAL DISTRICT GOAL(S) AND CRITICAL SUCCESS FACTOR(S)

* Increase promotion rates at all grade levels and the percentage of high school graduates, * Demonstrate consistent and effective teaching methods, * Motivate students to become responsible learners, * Recruit, develop, and retain a highly effective, diverse workforce, * Promote a culture of safety, which is free from harassment, bullying, and aggression

FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted: Yes)

Funds of $45,000 are included in the Staff Development Budget, Projects 1580 and 4502.

EVALUATION

Course evaluations are completed at the conclusion of each training. The results of the evaluation are captured through the Professional Development System.
