Recognition of Principals for Camp SPARKS (Special Parks and Recreation Kids) (Curriculum and Instruction Division)

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

The Hillsborough County Parks, Recreation, and Conservation Department, Therapeutic Section, would like to recognize the principals of Citrus Park and Hunter's Green Elementary Schools; Adams and Burns Middle Schools; and Plant City High School for their commitment and dedication to the Camp SPARKS program.

Hillsborough County Parks, Recreation, and Conservation Department, Therapeutic Section, in cooperation with the District and various private agencies has offered recreation and social activities to mentally and physically disabled citizens since 1998. Camp SPARKS, a summer day camp for children ages 6 to 22, serves approximately 250 children throughout Hillsborough County. The 8 to 10 week program provides activities such as sports, games, arts and crafts, and cooking along with special guests, swimming, and field trips.

All costs involved with Camp SPARKS are provided by the Hillsborough County Parks, Recreation, and Conservation Department, Therapeutic Section.
