SUBJECT / RECOMMENDATIONS
Approve a Contract for Medicaid Data Management Partnership with Okaloosa County School District for the Period of March 1, 2009 - December 31, 2009 (Business Division)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The School Board of Hillsborough County (HCPS) will provide billing services under the Medicaid "Fee-for-Service" program for the Okaloosa County School District. The billing agent for the Okaloosa District is not renewing Medicaid services contracts in the State of Florida and this has resulted in some small school districts, including Okaloosa, without the capabilities of billing Medicaid and thus, a further loss of revenue for these districts. HCPS has the unencumbered capacity to accept responsibility for processing Medicaid billing for a limited number of these small school districts.
ANNUAL DISTRICT GOAL(S) AND CRITICAL SUCCESS FACTOR(S)
* Align financial resources to support the district’s strategic goals
FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted: No)
This agreement will increase Medicaid revenue for the HCPS without incurring additional costs.
