Approve Memorandum of Understanding ("MOU") Between The School Board of Hillsborough County and the 6th Medical Group/SGSP (Pharmacy), MacDill Air Force Base

Hillsborough County Public Schools' staff has been approached by the 6th Medical Group Commander of MacDill Air Force Base ("MacDill") to request use of Tinker Elementary School's ("Tinker") multi-purpose building as a "Point of Dispensing" ("POD") if a terrorist attack or other emergency event were to occur. If this need arises and prophylaxis medication dispensing was initiated by the state, MacDill would receive shipment of the "Strategic National Stockpile ("SNS"). Dispensing would include anyone that works or lives at MacDill, to include, but not be limited to, all active duty, reservists, retirees, students, dependents, etc. Approximately 61,000 beneficiaries and South Tampa residents would need to achieve access to the Base for these services.

The MOU outlines the Board's responsibilities to provide use of Tinker's multi-purpose room to include access to the kitchen, lounge, music room/areas, utilities, telephones and computers (as needed).

The MOU has been reviewed by the School Board attorney as to form and sufficiency.

Approval of the Memorandum of Understanding will have no financial impact to the School Board.
