SUBJECT / RECOMMENDATIONS

Approve the Addition of Components to the Master Plan for Inservice Education

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

Florida Statute Section 1012.98 requires that each district school board shall develop and maintain an inservice educational training program. Descriptions of training programs offered for inservice credit are incorporated into the Master Plan for Inservice Education. The revision of the Master Plan for Inservice Education is approved annually by the School Board and Florida Department of Education. During the year specific training needs arise that require new courses to be developed and added to the Master Plan. These new courses are being added as part of the Teacher Incentive Fund Grant. A major focus of this grant was to design new inservice courses that would improve teacher effectiveness and impact student performance.
