EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
To Einstein, play may be “the highest form of research,” but to children, play is an indispensible medium to explore, learn, and develop as future leaders of our society. The Glazer Children’s Museum will provide this essential play through 15 carefully designed exploration galleries as well as multiple programming and demonstration spaces. Children’s museums celebrate a child’s innate ability to connect to the world around them. Where math, art, banking, science and other subjects are part of the same continuum of learning. Exhibit themes at the Glazer Children’s Museum will range from a grocery store, a bank, a construction site, to engineering and boat pilots. The 53,000 square foot museum will include over 175 exploration-based exhibits, seven classrooms, a special event hall, and a terrace overlooking Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park and the Hillsborough River.
Joining the distinguished group of community and business leaders that serve on the Glazer Children’s Museum Board of Directors are Jennifer Faliero, School Board Member, and Barbara B. Hancock, General Director of Elementary Education.
