On May 20, 2008, the Board appointed the architectural firm of Carruthers & Associates Architects P.A. to provide design services for classroom additions at Colson, Jackson, Lewis, and Seffner Elementary Schools. On July 15, 2008, the Board appointed the construction management firm of Vogel Bros. Building Co. The scope of work provides for the following additions: 10 classrooms at Colson, 8 classrooms at Jackson, 10 classrooms at Lewis, and 8 classrooms at Seffner. These additions are necessary to meet class size reduction requirements. Completion of each project is scheduled for July 27, 2009.

Approval of the guaranteed maximum price will establish a cost for each project.

Construction cost for Colson is warranted at $1,549,970. The construction budget is $1,700,000. Construction cost for Jackson is warranted at $1,440,502. The construction budget is $1,450,000. Construction cost for Lewis is $1,689,479. The construction budget is $1,700,000. Construction cost for Seffner is $1,415,505. The construction budget is $1,450,000.
