SUBJECT / RECOMMENDATIONS
Approve Cooperative Agreement with the Agency for Community Treatment Services (ACTS), Inc. (Non-Traditional Programs, Division of Administration)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The Agency for Community Treatment Services (ACTS) provides an array of services for adults and youth in need of substance abuse treatment, a homless day program, and services for dependent and delinquent youth. The School District provides a portable, a Dropout Prevention Teacher, and a Teacher's Aide to deliver educational services to approximately 20 students in the ACTS residential drug treatment program for youth that are assigned by the courts. ACTS provides an appropriate site for the program and support personnel.

FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted: Yes)
The program will be financed by FTE funds, which amount to approximately $77,722.80. This item is included in the Part 1 Budget for 2009/2010.
EVALUATION
A comprehensive evaluation of the educational program will be completed by June 30, 2010. Data reviewed will include, but not be limited to, classroom observations, FCAT scores, Comprehensive Reading Plan progress monitoring assessment, and semester exam results.
