Approve Collaborative Partnership Agreements for Various Florida Department of Education Adult Education Grant Projects, 2009/2010 (Curriculum and Instruction Division)

We request approval to submit various grant proposals to the Florida Department of Education, Division of Workforce Education. Supplemental funding provided by these grants for local Adult Education and Family Literacy programs will incorporate the implementation of the following five renewal collaborative agreements to provide services to targeted populations specified by the grant projects.

• SERVE-Volunteers in Education - $6,000
• Catholic Charities Diocese of St. Petersburg - $1,800
• Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Detention Department - $5,000
• Hillsborough Community College - $295,139
• Tampa Bay Workforce Alliance - $25,000

Details of the agreements with program descriptions and budget information are attached.

Grant funds of $332,939 are included in the divisional special revenue/federal programs budget. All direct and indirect costs are included in grant funds.

Evaluation measures required by the grant are determined by the Florida Department of Education. The annual state performance report will be completed in October 2010 and shared with all stakeholders.
