Approve the Contract with the Boys and Girls Clubs of Tampa Bay (Student Services and Federal Programs Division)

The contract provides for the delivery of child care services by the Boys and Girls Clubs of Tampa Bay for school-age children from low-income, at-risk families, who are income eligible and participating in the Hillsborough County School Readiness Child Care Purchasing Pool program. The contract is in effect July 1, 2009 through June 30, 2010. This is a partnership program, which draws funds from local agencies that are matched at 100% by the Florida Agency for Workforce Innovation, Office of Early Learning, Child Care Executive Partnership.

The total funding of $25,000, subcontracted with the Boys and Girls Clubs of Tampa Bay for the Hillsborough County Public Schools - School Readiness Child Care Purchasing Pool program is expended for the provision of child care services for approximately 25 eligible school-age children at the rate of $2,000 per year. The Child Care Purchasing Pool funds are matched dollar for dollar by the Boys and Girls Clubs of Tampa Bay.

Each year the financial statements are audited by Hillsborough County School Readiness Coalition, as prescribed by law. The funding for Early Learning Coalition of Hillsborough County is provided through federal dollars. The flow-through dollars are channeled by the Agency for Workforce Innovations. The School Readiness Program uses these funds to purchase child care in Hillsborough County. There is no district-generated revenue used for this purchase.
