EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The Cooperative Agreements stipulate that the Department of Adult and Community Education will offer a Family Literacy Program that provides a five-prong integrated approach to address workforce and literacy needs of parents and children. This program offers a full range of educational services, parenting skills, pre-vocational training, parent involvement activities, and workforce readiness skills. In exchange for the use of classroom space at Kimmins Family Learning Center, the district agrees to pay 70% of the monthly utilities at the facility, approximately $24,000.
For the 2008/2009 school year, Kimmins Family Learning Center served approximately 208 students and earned $104,000 in Workforce Education Funding.
