Approve Renewal Agreement for Educational Services with Beth-El Farmworker Ministry, Inc., 2009/2010 (Adult and Community Education)

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

We request approval of the renewal agreement for the continuation of educational services by the Department of Adult and Community Education for adult farmworkers at facilities operated by Beth-El Farmworker Ministry, Inc.

The Agreement for Educational Services (Financial) renews the commitment by the district to compensate Beth-El Farmworker Ministry, Inc. for the cost of utilities incurred by the use of classroom space by the Department of Adult and Community Education.

Classes offered at Beth-El Farmworker Ministry, Inc. include adult basic education, General Educational Development (GED) preparation, instruction for students seeking to earn a state of Florida high school diploma, as well as, instruction in English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL).

For the 2008/2009 school year, Beth-El Farmworker Ministry served approximately 265 students and earned $132,500 in Workforce Education funding.
