Approve Grant Application to the Florida Department of Education (FDOE), and if Approved, Accept Funds for the Florida Inclusion Network (FIN), 2009/2010 (Curriculum and Instruction Division)

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

We request approval to submit a grant application for FIN. The major goals for 2009/2010 include increased learning gains for students with disabilities in reading, math, and science within the least restrictive environment and increases in family centered activities sponsored by FIN. FIN collaborates with the Division of Curriculum and Instructional in providing district and school-based workshops and learning opportunities for all teachers, both exceptional education and general education. FIN provides support to all schools by meeting the needs of diverse learners in general education classrooms, providing continuous school-based technical assistance and follow up, and sharing current research information and resources with all personnel resulting in the inclusion of all students and increased student outcomes. A summary narrative of the grant proposal is attached.
