We are requesting approval of the attached listing of consultants who will plan and/or conduct training for New Teacher Content. Training for middle and secondary teachers will be held at various locations throughout the district August 3-5, 2009. Based on the number of teachers participating in the training, permission is requested to add and/or delete trainer names to the list.

The middle and secondary staffs provide this opportunity to new teachers for classroom management, content, pedagogy, professional ethics, district standards and assessment knowledge necessary to begin the year successfully. Additionally, more support is provided for teachers throughout the school year at all levels.

Funds of $27,360.54 are available in the Division of Curriculum and Instruction budget under the Stimulus Project - American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA)

The Department of Staff Development will conduct teacher evaluation surveys at the conclusion of the training.
