SUBJECT / RECOMMENDATIONS

Approve Construction Documents and Guaranteed Maximum Price for HVAC, Fire Alarm, Intercom, and Lighting Renovations at
Seffner Elementary School

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

On November 18, 2008, the Board appointed the engineering firm of Advanced Systems Engineering, Inc. to provide design services. The scope of work provides for replacement of heating, ventilating, and air conditioning (HVAC) equipment and controls that have exceeded or are reaching the end of their useful life. The scope also includes replacement of the fire alarm, intercom, and lighting systems throughout the campus. The project will improve the reliability of the HVAC system at the school and reduce energy consumption. On April 21, 2009, the Board appointed Vogel Bros. Building Co. to provide construction management services. Project completion is scheduled for March 2010.

Approval of the guaranteed maximum price will establish the cost for the project.
