Approve the Transportation Department Proclamation, "August 19, 2009 Our Time to Shine," as the Pre-planning Theme

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

The Transportation Department wishes to recognize the exemplary commitment to safety that bus drivers in Hillsborough County demonstrate each day. The Transportation Department transports 90,000 students on a daily basis. The backbone of the bus transportation system is the bus driver and their never-ending commitment to safety, accountability, and customer service.

On this day all bus drivers will be driving their assigned routes during real time. Through the cooperation of the Tampa Police Department and Hillsborough County Sheriff's office this has been made possible.
