SUBJECT / RECOMMENDATIONS

Approve Renewal of Stadium License Agreement with Tampa Sports Authority for the Blake vs. Middleton High School Football Game, Thursday, September 17, 2009 (Curriculum and Instruction Division)

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

We request approval of the renewal of the Stadium License Agreement with the Tampa Sports Authority for use of Raymond James Stadium for the Blake vs. Middleton High School football game on Thursday, September 17, 2009, at 7:00 p.m. Ticket sales for this event will cover the facilities rental fee of $42,500. There has been no increase in the rental fee from the 2008/2009 school year.

Blake and Middleton High Schools have a longstanding rivalry. District football stadiums cannot accommodate the extremely large crowds for this game. Utilization of Raymond James Stadium will allow this tradition to continue for football supporters of Blake and Middleton High Schools. The Stadium License Agreement has been reviewed by the School Board Attorney.

ANNUAL DISTRICT GOAL(S) AND CRITICAL SUCCESS FACTOR(S)

* Demonstrate "best practices" in all aspects of safety including students, employees, visitors, facilities, transportation, and health

FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted: No)

The Stadium License Agreement is $42,500 and revenue from ticket sales will offset expenditures for rental of the stadium.
