Approve the First Modification of the Agreement Between Hillsborough County Board of County Commissioners Head Start/Early Head Start Program and Hillsborough County Public Schools (Student Services and Federal Programs Division)

We request approval of the First Modification Agreement in the amount of $303,261 with Hillsborough County Board of County Commissioners Head Start/Early Head Start Program and the Hillsborough County Public Schools Head Start Program. The Hillsborough County Public Schools Head Start Program has been in operation for 45 years as a delegate Head Start agency and continues to provide comprehensive services to the 1,759 eligible children, ages 3 - 5, served in 89 classrooms at 50 elementary sites. This modification is in effect October 1, 2008 through September 30, 2009.

The total funding, including the modification is $10,263,255. These funds are federal flow-through dollars from the Board of County Commissioners, Head Start/Early Head Start and contracted to the Hillsborough County Public Schools Head Start Program.

Financial statements are audited by the Hillsborough County Board of County Commissioners, Head Start/Early Head Start, as prescribed by law. Federal funding for the Hillsborough County Public Schools Head Start Program flows through the Grantee, Hillsborough County Head Start/Early Head Start. There is no district generated revenue used for this program.
