SUBJECT / RECOMMENDATIONS

Approve Construction Documents and Guaranteed Maximum Price for Partnership Library at
Sulphur Springs Elementary School

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

On April 21, 2008, the Board approved an interlocal agreement with Hillsborough County for the expansion of the existing library at Sulphur Springs Elementary School. The agreement specifies the County and the District will jointly design, operate, and maintain the facility, with construction to be accomplished by the District. At completion, the District will own the 3,300 to 3,500 square foot expanded facility, with a joint right of use between both parties. Project completion is scheduled for January 15, 2010.

District staff selected The Architectural Practice, Inc. and W.G. Mills, Inc. from the approved Continuing Services Consultants list to provide design and construction management services.

Approval of the guaranteed maximum price will establish the cost for the project.

Construction cost is warranted at $699,446. The construction budget is $700,000. The County has agreed to reimburse the District up to $770,000 for the project, which includes amounts for professional fees.
