The 2010 Employee Benefits Annual Enrollment Period
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The Employee Benefits Annual Enrollment for 2010 began Monday, September 30, 2009, and ends Friday, October 9, 2009. There is one remaining information meeting, with health fair, that employees may attend – Wednesday, October 7 at Brandon High’s auditorium (4:30 - 6 p.m.). While at this meeting, employees can discuss their benefits issues with various product representatives and Employee Benefits staff members, participate in the Humana Health Fair, and even get their annual $5 flu shots (as supplies last and provided members bring their HCPS Humana ID cards).
This year there is no online enrollment being conducted at the benefits meetings. Instead, we have scheduled five information sessions throughout the district to help employees understand: 1) how to compare the medical plans, 2) how to determine which medical plan may be the most cost-efficient, 3) what differences may determine the choice of medical plan, and 4) which voluntary benefits may be most advantageous. In addition to these meetings, a video of annual enrollment benefits information is available for employees and/or their family members to see and hear and replay as needed. The video can be accessed by visiting the district’s website.
New this year, Humana is providing a hotline for eligible employees and retirees to call with health plan related questions. The Humana hotline phone number is 1 (888) 393-6765 and is available now through December 31, 2009. Materials have also been produced in Spanish, and Spanish-speaking Univers enrollers and Employee Benefits staff will be available at the October 7 meeting.
Employees can make their 2010 benefits elections in one of two ways:
Call the Aon Call Center at 1 (866) 522-9133 to have their elections entered for them
Go to the web site at www.sdhc.selfservicenow.com to enter their elections themselves
