Recognize the Museum of Science and Industry (MOSI) for Receiving the 2009 National Medal for Museums (Curriculum and Instruction Division)

The Museum of Science and Industry (MOSI) was selected by the National Institute of Museum and Library Services from 17,000 museums in the United States to receive the 2009 National Medal for Museums. This distinguished award is the highest honor for museums and recognizes the exceptional and outstanding contributions MOSI makes to the community. MOSI serves nearly a million people each year through their educational programs and learning experiences. MOSI has partnered with the School District of Hillsborough County by providing the use of their facility for district meetings, Science Olympics, and Brain Bowl. In addition, MOSI’s educational outreach programs have brought science into the classroom making real world connections for students.
