Approve Agreement for Technical Services for Staff Development to Develop Technology Integration Online Courses for the Series "Special Topics in Integrating Technology into the Curriculum" (Information and Technology Division)

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

The Staff Development Department will develop eight technology integration online courses for the series, "Special Topics in Integrating Technology into the Curriculum," beginning December 9, 2009 through March 31, 2010. The courses in this series consist of a variety of technology topics. Each six-week, 30 in-service hour online course is being developed in response to Florida Sunshine State Standards applied technology requirements. Teachers participating in the courses will learn to incorporate technology into their curriculum. The provider will identify current research in technology integration and apply it to the online technology integration course content. The consultant will provide 30 hours of service.

FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted: Yes)

Funds of $6,991 are included in Technology Training, Staff Development Project 4503. Trainers are paid a fee, not to exceed a total of $735 (plus fringe), to design and develop technology integration online courses.

EVALUATION

Participants will complete an online course evaluation of the training.
